September 20th

So today was super fabulous-not as great as yesterday, but still pretty awesome nonetheless :)

Breakfast:
Finishing up more tupperwares this morning!  I had almost the same breakfast as yesterday-1 piece of whole wheat french toast, 2 egg whites, 2 strawberries, and 1 cup of coffee with 2 tbsp. skim milk and 2 splendas. YAY! :)

Snacks:
Today is my SUPER busy day, where I have five classes in a row, from 9:35-4:45. YIKES!  So, today was the first day I decided to pack snacks with me.  At 10:45, I had the grapes.  At 12:30, I had the cucumbers. At 2:00, I had the peanut butter crackers, and at 3:20, I had 1/2 the bag of edamame.  They're wasabi-flavored, so I can apparently only handle 1/16 cup worth...oh well :)

Snack 2:
I was getting a caffeine headache, so I made myself another cup of coffee with 2 tbsp. skim milk and 2 splendas, and that got rid of it-yay :)

Dinner:
Using up even MORE tupperwares, and bringing our total in the fridge down to TWO, I finished up the Turkey Chili (about 4oz worth), and 1.5 cups of sauteed yellow squash-YUMMY! :)

Snacks:
I went down to Blake and Chase's room around 8:30, since Chase and Lucy went to the library, and I can't study in a completely silent room.  I took a bag of grapes with me (SO GENIUS!) since I was feeling hungry and it hit the spot.

Then, when Lucy and I got back to our room after 10, she wanted ice cream, and I decided that a little Raspberry Sorbet never killed anyone :)

Exercise:
I didn't get any in today because my schedule on Tuesdays is JAM PACKED, but I definitely walked a least a mile today, going back and forth to opposite ends of campus all day.

Pros:
I ate well, I took pictures, I ate my fruits and veggies, and I'm quite content :)

Cons:
I need to drink some more water!

September 19th

So today's been pretty fabulous, though now I'm ABSOLUTELY exhausted!  Get ready though, I've created nicknames for all my friends now, or at least some of them, so here we go :)

My roommate-Lucy
Best Guy Friend-Blake
Best Guy Friend's Roommate-Chase
*When I talk about the others, I'll mention their names, but for now, those are the main three :)

Breakfast:
Lucy and I had TONS of tupperwares in the fridge, and Blake said we needed to use them up, so Lucy had eggs and bacon and I had a piece of whole wheat french toast (YUM YUM!), some egg whites, and a cup of coffee with 2 splendas and 2 tbsp. skim milk.

Lunch:
SO GOOD!  So I got rid of food in another tupperware (and then filled it back up with the rest of a cucumber, but that's okay).  I had some grilled chicken with about 2/3 cup roasted squash and 1/4 diced cucumber with 1/2 cup grapes. SO SO SO GOOD :)

Snack 1:
So I was doing homework in my room all day, and got really hungry and decided to fix a snack.  It's my favorite-1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt, 2 diced strawberries, 1 tsp. almonds and a pinch or two of cinnamon. YUM!

Snack 2:
So, I have a class from 7:10-9:40 on Monday nights and I was starting to get a headache around 4:30, so Lucy and I headed to Starbucks, and I got a Venti Skinny Hazelnut Latte (160 calories-NICE!).  I also had 6 slices of Honey Roasted Turkey Breast for 50 calories-WIN :)

Dinner:
Reheating the amazing turkey chili from last night.  PS-didn't know this much was an 8oz serving.  I've definitely been eating a LOT less for a serving haha :)

Snack 3:

So this week I thought to pack snacks for my late class, since last time I got SUPER hungry and then brought food to Blake's room after that weren't fabulous choices :) 1 Serving (13) Late July Organic Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers and then 1/2 cup grapes-best decision ever :)

Snack 4:
A half cup of grapes because I was still hungry and that was the best choice I could think of so late at night.

Exercise:  I woke up SUPER early and went to the gym and got on the elliptical, burning 509 calories in 30 minutes-not too bad :)

Pros: Yay for getting fruits and veggies in, yay for drinking 14 cups of water today, and yay for getting in some exercise and doing so well food wise!  Also, I checked the scale at the gym this morning, and I'm starting there at 225.2.  Hopefully next week will result in a big loss :)

Cons: I need to work on lowering my sugar intake, since it's fairly high and I'm starting to be concerned.

September 18th

Guess who got all caught up?! :)

Breakfast: 1 cup of Cheerios with 1/2 cup skim milk and 2 diced strawberries and 1 cup of coffee with 1/4 cup skim milk and 2 splendas-yay! :)

Lunch:  We tried waiting for the boys, but they weren't getting up, so my roommate and I made breakfast ourselves.  Bacon (which was an epic fail), Pancakes, and Eggs-yay :)  I had 2 egg whites with 3 pancakes, and 1 slice of bacon.  I feel like I'm getting really good at not going overboard at brunch :)

Snack:  So I was getting SUPER hungry throughout the day, and had a serving of red seedless grapes and 13 Late July Organic Peanut Butter sandwich crackers-AMAZING!  My roommate also surprised me with a Grande Nonfat Pumpkin Spice Latte, which I accepted ever so happily :)

Dinner:  We made turkey chili again, so I had some of that with a tiny bit of cheese, some fritos, and sour cream on top :)  Definitely filled me up!

Dessert: 1/4 cup of Ciao Bella Raspberry Sorbet-best dessert ever!

Exercise: Do you count walking in heels that are too big? Just kidding :)  But that actually did happen to me :)
Other than that, I didn't get tons of exercise in-I was inside doing TONS of work!

Pros: Yay for eating well and drinking lots of water.

Cons: Veggies and Exercise!

September 17th

So, for a Saturday, I was SUPER busy!

Breakfast: I woke up SUPER early because I had a retreat from 10-2, and I was missing weekly breakfast with the boys and my roommate (or so I thought), so I had a bowl of cheerios with 2 sliced strawberries and 1/2 cup skim milk and 2 cups of coffee, each with 1/4 cup skim milk and 2 splendas. YUM :)

Lunch: I got back to my room a little after 1 (the retreat ended early), and my roommate let me know that we were having lunch with the boys.  So we headed to their room and my best guy friend's roommate made us the most EPIC quesadillas EVER!  So, to describe it, he made a quesadilla with cheese, then, on the top of that, put sour cream, cherry tomatoes, guacamole, and cilantro, put another toasted tortilla on that, and added some salsa. YUM YUM YUM :)

Dinner: My roommate and I met two of our friends at Bertucci's, an Italian Restaurant.  Thanks to my genius thinking, I checked the menu beforehand for calories and whatnot, and stuck with the Venetian Salad with chicken, which was AMAZING :)  I definitely ate the whole thing :)  I also had one roll, which was good.

Dessert:  We made a cake, and it was supposed to only have 10 servings, but I made it into 18, and had a slice, without icing :)

Exercise:  Not really, but I'll work on it!

Pros: I got a really good talk in with the best guy friend.  It's been really awkward with us in the last couple of days, and I've talked to his roommate a lot about it, and finally I decided that we needed to talk.  So we talked for about an hour and a half, and I got a lot of things off my chest, and it felt nice :)  Then I chilled in his room for another 2 hours :)

Cons: I need to get the exercise in!

September 16th

Friday: A day of fun and relaxation!

Breakfast: 1 cup of Cheerios with 1/2 cup skim milk and 2 diced strawberries with 1 cup of coffee with 1/4 cup skim milk and 2 splendas-yay :)

Lunch: 1 cup of mixed greens (finished the bag for once-yay!) with some chicken pieces, 1/2 diced tomato, 1/4 diced cucumber, and 2 tbsp. Ginger Soy dressing :)

Dinner: My roommate and I got a free pizza coupon from Papa John's, so we decided to use that for movie night :)  We got the plain three cheese pizza, and it was yummy!  I had 2 slices and then we made sugar cookies (halving each one, so we made 32 instead of 16).  I had 5 for about 300 calories-not bad :)

Snack:  I had 2 tbsp Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Butter, finishing the container. Sad :(

Exercise:  My roommate and I, as part of Roommate Day, walked to the Lincoln Memorial, took pictures, read for a bit, and headed back.  It was a nice day, and I'm glad we got out :)

Pros:  Yay for drinking water, moving around, and eating some veggies.

Cons:  I really need to stop with the sweets and pizza-I feel like it isn't good all the time.

September 15th

Slowly catching up here!  But I needed a break from all this crazy Latin America reading I'm working on tonight, and I figured it was a perfect time to update my lovely blog :)

Breakfast: A spin on my typical breakfast :)  1 cup of Cheerios with 1 sliced strawberry and 1/2 cup skim milk, 1 cup of coffee with 1/4 cup skim milk and 2 splendas, and a slice of whole wheat french toast :)  My roommate made two, decided she only wanted 1 and a bowl of cheerios too, so I had her second piece and we had the same exact breakfast-yay :)

Snack:  I packed a Luna Bar-Toasted Nuts and Cranberry bar and ate it between my second and third classes of the day. YUMMY!

Dinner:  I heated up some chicken pieces, about 2/3 cup roasted squash, and about 1/4 cup peas and corn and it was SO GOOD :)  I also had another cup of coffee with 1/4 cup skim milk and 2 splendas.

Snack:  My friend and I went to a local concert at a coffee shop by Union Station, and of course I HAD to have one of their Pumpkin Pie Lattes, so I had a large nonfat one-SO SO SO SO SO SO GOOD :)

Exercise:  We walked quite a bit, but I didn't think it counted as actual exercise :)
Pros: Yay for eating well and doing something spontaneous and fun.  I also am glad I talked to best guy friend's roommate (I really need to work on code names).  I needed to talk to him and we talked for an hour, which was what I needed :)

Cons: Nay for not feeling comfortable around best guy friend anymore...yeah, not so fun.  And I need to get exercise in!

September 14th

So today went pretty well-probably because I had lots of time to catch up on work and write the essay that was due on Thursday!

Breakfast: I woke up early this morning and made Whole-Wheat French Toast for my roommate and I :)  I basically just used two eggs and 1/2 cup skim milk and then dipped pieces of the bread into it and then into the pan.  I ate one piece with 2 diced strawberries on top, and there was a little cinnamon in there too-YUMMY!  I also had 1 cup of coffee with 2 splendas and 1/4 cup skim milk :)  That put a smile on my face for the day.

Lunch:  I got lunch at a local restaurant with a friend of mine, and while it was kinda strange for multiple reasons, the food was good!  I had the Southwest Cobb Salad-Lunch portion, and it was so light and good!  I ate the whole thing (I took half of it back to my room and ate it shortly after) :)

Dinner: After my roommate and I went to the gym, we decided to cook dinner in our room.  We had some ground beef in the fridge so we cooked that up-I made burger patties and she cooked up some frozen peas and carrots and it was REALLY GOOD :)  I loved the simplicity and how good it was :)

Snacks:  I had 1/8 cup of Creme Brulee ice cream. It amazes me how long it takes me now to eat a thing of ice cream. I guess that's a benefit of doing well so far! :)  I also had 4 tbsp. of Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Butter-do you see why I need to get rid of peanut/hazelnut butter in my room? :)

Exercise:  My roommate and I went to the gym during my paper break, and I did 30 minutes of strength training because after the mexican food yesterday, my stomach probably could not have handled any cardio.  My best guy friend went running last night and it didn't end pretty-let's leave it at that.  And I found the rest of the machines at the gym for strength training-YAY!

Pros: Yay for exercising during a stressful schoolwork day and yay for eating so well! :)

Cons: I need to get rid of these sugary snacks-they don't make me feel good about myself.
